Snack

5th May – Snack

SnackTrip to the ‘pool today.  Start of with a Snack, sausage sarnie.  Then on to The Walker Art Gallery.  Bit of nice Paul Nash, bit of Johnny Vegas.  Thoroughly enjoyed it.  They’re advertising a Holly Johnson exhibition down at The Museum of Liverpool Life.

C not happy on the walk, so we hit The White Star for a beer.  Gives C a chance to rest up.  She walks the rest of the way.  Exhibition is interesting but a bit light.

Scran at a Weatherspoons and then home.

From where I stand

May 4th – From Where I Stand

From where I standJourney back from Leeds today and prompt of From Where I Stand – well I stood there yesterday.  Up late and don’t have time for planned scran and coffee.  Just had to jump the train.  Thank fuck coffee was available at Picadilly.

Jump train to Wallgate and then bus home.  Am totally shattered but edit the pics and get them uploaded.

Glad to see C.

Weekend Vibes

May 3 – Weekend Vibes

Weekend VibesWeekend Vibes and it’s Part Time Punks weekend and it’s a trip to Leeds.  Begins well when I miss the bus, cancelled train and it’s travel as normal.  I’ve built in time redundancy so not stressed.  Get to Leeds and it’s off for lunch in Kirkgate Market.  Cracking veggie thali washed down with a Mango Lassi.  Then off to find the Airbnd.  Positives, it’s central, negatives, how do I get into the fucking place and the host is not the most communicative.

In and out and in time for a beer at Wharf Chambers before kick off.  See Jay who introduces me to a few people, includes Gareth’s label boss.  See Andrew and Anne.  We shoot the breeze and Nervous Twitch kick off.  A few camera issues as I sort out the best lens for the circumstances.  Cracking set with a few new tunes.  Fab stuff.  They day continues in this vein. By the end of the night I’m knackered, I’ve probably drunk too much and I’m hangry.

April 26 Glimmer 26

Glimmer 26A day of rest with the exception of a bit of shopping, a pint, cleaning the floor of the bathroom and kitchen.  Glimmer 26 is back to food! Home and make koftas – they work, the bhajis this time don’t, too much batter.  Need to follow the recipe rather than winging it!  D’oh!

In the meanwhile C looks at a scam site and falls for it.  It’s easy to do and when Nationwide give her the heads up, they are fabulous when she calls.

Glimmer 5

5th April Glimmer 5

Glimmer 5A bit of a lazy start to the day, showered and then away to Sainsbury’s whereupon I find glimmer 5.  Home for lunch and then off shopping again.  Coffee and a wee pint in the Tom & Gerry.  Am cooking the Kidney Care UK Lamb Kebabs with some Onion Bhaji.  The Bhaji work well surprisingly as they’ve always been appalling when I’ve tried before.  Find the kebabs a bit bland tbh.

Am stressing and that’s not good.

An abundance

10th March Abundance

An abundance Monday and I’m despatched to deliver the piss to the GPs. Hazel is due to suffer the final indignity, it only hurts if you get your fingers caught between the bricks. Brief shop in Aldi and then onto the laundrette. My cunning plan of coffee, music and book is interrupted by building work at the garage. Plan B from Planet 57 swings into action and it’s a sausage barm and coffee from the sandwich shop.

Back home and the plan is cook a lasagne for tomorrow, gammon and chips for tonight.

Detail

8th March Details

DetailLazy start to another day off, not up till 9.40’ish.  Wander into Wigan with C who is looking for shoes.  First port of call is the market where she deems the shoes too frumpy.  A brief coffee as I scarf the rest of my tabs.  Then into the Grand Arcade.  Shoezone (no wide fit), Clarks (too frumpy) fail to provide.  In desperation it’s Schuh and we find some Doc Marten’s she loves, Klarna makes them affordable.

Nip into The Raven in search of lunch, first time we’ve been in since it changed hands and was refurbed.  Unimpressed we don’t stay.  So we wander into Gallimore’s (later learn it is shutting down on Sunday) and have another of their superb steak baguettes.

Home and a cuppa before wandering off to Lidl.  Pint in the Lickers on the way back and bake scones and cook pancakes for tea.  Wash up and watch old films with herself.
