10th January – Out The Window
Back into work today. Get up late. Drive in. Meet Henry and Kat on the way in. Great day for verticals and Easy Leads! Managed to add some data to my car spreadsheet. It now gives a much more realistic view of the costs of running the car per mile.
Day went OK but bit discombobulated by the late start. C gave me the fright of my life when she called on the way home. Blue and Me works well in the car.
Make soup as soon as I get in, takes it’s time but relaxing chopping the veg and getting things going. Finish off with steam pudding. Must remember to find peppers on the way home for tomorrows Enchiladas.
C has cleaned out and tidied my shit. With a view to getting rid of some stuff. Not overly happy about it, things work as they were.
Bit of a relax and TV time, get a film in and jobs a good ‘un. Back is painful end up grabbing one of C’s cocodamols to help me get to sleep and reduce the amount of pain.
Review #10 – The Fadeaways – The Fadeaways
Consistently fiery, high-energy Japanese garage rock, blending raw ’60s punk energy with tight, fuzzy production, it’s infectious, no-frills sound that’s both classic and powerful. Reminiscent of very early The Pretty Things or The Gruesomes. The drums are lovingly blown-out, as are the vocals, and the fuzz is there but not so shaggy as to get in the way of tightly-arranged tracks that get to the core of what’s still satisfying about rock’n’roll all these decades in.
