1st of the lates and I’m struggling. Thank gawd for Kawa’s. Still struggle with a late start, too early to do much, too late to not do something.
Curry night, a Punjabi Tomato Curry with Chicken, rice and Naan. Slow cook and caramalise some onions. Also bake some fruit scones. Wee shop with C earlier and swift pint. Pump up the bike tyres in anticipation of tomorrow’s cycle to work.
C tidy’s upstairs as I cook.
Friday and I’m given a list. But first its time to sort the panniers on the bike in daylight. Discover I’d put them on back to front. Relatively easy to sort. Pop in the bike locks and job’s a good’un.
Onto the list. First off I am sent to the doctors to fetch blood forms, pots to piss in and to rearrange the time of the telephone consult. Then to book a bloods appointment, ring the people concerned only to discover I have to book it online. So online I go. Next a trip to the post office to send Christine’s birthday card.
Next to sorting the pedals on the bike. Much easier than I thought it’d be.
Last day off for a wee while and it’s a busy one. Laundrette day, change pedals day, bake custard pie, make mince and potato pie, give the cat her flea and worming treatment. Hoover and clean the oven and kitchen.
So Laundrette had a dryer hog, it started pissing down as I left. Cat avoided the pills. But on the plus side the custard pie seems to have worked. Mince and potato pie is a work in progress.
Feeling really shit, hit the booze to deal with it, not certain that that’s a good idea. That being said I just continue.
Sunday lazy start to the day. Wash up and make breakfast. Nip to the shop and grab a swift pint. Weather is foul. Catch up with the boy in the afternoon, he’s sounding less tin helmety.
Folks seem fine when I ring. C suffering from neuralgia and preparation for first day back blues.
Laundrette day
Last day of the run of three, couple of days off will be welcome. All the kids are going bowling. Meanwhile there is trouble brewing and rebellion is in the air. There are times that inexperience don’t help. Me I’m chilled!
A day of bike fettling, would be great if I knew what I was doing! C off from work. Waiting on arrival of late required inner tubes! Fucked up when removing the tyres, mind you gawd alone knows how old the tubes were that were in the bike. New saddle arrives as well. Might not get to ride into work tomorrow, depends on arrival time of the tubes. They are meant to be here by 10pm. Arrive at about 7.00, tyres are a bastard to fit back but seem to manage. Get’em back on the bike, will pump up tonight to see how well I’ve done!
Well one wheel is fine, other is fucked… we go again tomorrow night!
Need to get a small socket set and small saddle bag.
Day in. No need to cook because I have yesterday’s lasagne. C not feeling great.
R left keys at the house, eventually get to bed at about 1 am.
